Haunted trail, Saint Mary's Island, Madagascar
"I Came across an interesting ghost story while visiting Saint Mary's Island(Ile Saint Marie), an island off the east coast of Madagascar. People would probably have never heard of this island if it wasn't for it's pirates. In the 17th and 18th Century the island was used by many famous pirates like Abraham Samuel, William Kidd, Robert Culliford, Thomas Tew, Henry Every and Olivier Levasseur as a meeting spot to divide their loots. And some pirates have even lived then died there. There's a pirates cemetery on the island not far from where the picture of the haunted trail was taken. Some sunken pirates ships also are spread around the island and these are hot spots for divers. Over the years the island had attracted many treasure hunters looking for pirate's hidden chests. In those times pirates would hid their loots in marked areas(with special symbols)filled with deadly traps. That is if one was lucky and came across a marked area that doesn't mean that's it, whatever that was hidden and found is his. He has to decipher first properly the carved symbols otherwise he might end up squashed by a boulder, poisoned or even decapitated."
"Now, back to our ghost story. This information came from one of the witnesses. One night in 2003 around 2 am in the morning, two friends were sitting down and chit chat. When out of the blue comes a horse passing by. The horse appeared out of nowhere. I asked the witness what was the color of that horse? Strange question indeed but that's what came to me to ask. He said blue, blueish and he was lit. There was some kind of blueish light and fogginess about it he said. And this horse was dragging metal chains behind him. The ghost horse then vanished in thin air as they both tried to comprehend what is it exactly that they just saw."

In the above shot we can see in the middle of the water the tiny island where pirates met to divide their loot.
